Project Overview
Tribe Capital wanted to stand apart from the typical venture fund aesthetic — no dark blues, no stock photography, no jargon. We proposed a system built on pixelated gradient fields: warm, human, and slightly nostalgic.
Identity System
The identity is built on two ingredients: pixelated gradients generated from photographs of founders' hometowns, and an editorial typographic voice.
The Gradient Language
Each portfolio company receives its own gradient, derived from imagery meaningful to its founders. The pixelation keeps the system abstract and cohesive while every artifact stays personal.
Typography
The typography is intentionally editorial. Large statements set in a grotesque typeface carry the brand voice, while smaller supporting text stays quiet and functional.
The Website
The website became the centerpiece of the identity: a single scrolling narrative where each investment story unfolds over a shifting gradient backdrop.
Key Screens
The homepage opens with a full-bleed gradient and a single sentence about the fund's philosophy. Portfolio pages pair each company's gradient with a short founder story, written in the same warm, direct tone.
Key Impact
Since launch, inbound founder applications have doubled, and the fund's partners report that the brand is the most common first topic in intro calls — exactly the conversation starter they wanted.
